NHS 70: Celebrating 70 years of our National Health Service

The NHS is turning 70 on 5 July 2018. Here at Basildon and Brentwood CCG we are marking the occasion by celebrating the achievements of the NHS, including advances in science, technology and information, and paying tribute to the extraordinary NHS staff who work tirelessly to provide care and support for everyone.

2018 will be a year of celebrating and we can all get involved with supporting the NHS during its special birthday year. Whether it's organising a community or workplace event, raising money for local NHS charities, or sharing your stories about the NHS and its heroes, we'd like you to get involved.

Here are just some of the ways you can help us celebrate this year.

Nurse and GP appointments now available after work and weekends

Patients registered at GP practices in the Basildon and Brentwood districts will be able to book GP or nurse appointments, via their own GP practice, in the evenings and weekends under a new healthcare scheme launching on Easter Sunday, April 1st.

Basildon and Brentwood Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has procured an Extended Hours Access Service to offer extra GP and nurse appointments, delivered from a number of Hub Clinics across the patch.

EPUT advice line for patients and relatives

If you are a patient or relative and are concerned about anything you may have read or heard about Essex Partnership University Trust today (Tuesday 20 March), the Trust has set up a special helpline for you. The number is 01268 739182 and will be open from 8pm this evening. The CCG continues to work with EPUT to ensure patients receive quality care in a safe environment.
