Basildon and Brentwood Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has celebrated the 70th anniversary of the NHS with a findraising event for St Luke's Hospice.
The CCG held a birthday party with afternoon tea and fete games in the garden of St Luke's in Basildon.
The event - attended by patient group members, CCG staff, GP Board members plus patients, their families and staff from the hospice - raised £700 for St Luke's.
The CCG and St Luke's would like to thank the 27 local companies and individuals who kindly donated prizes for the raffle. They included Boots, Tesco, Club Kingswood, Summerhill Garden Centre, Kelly's Beauty Treatments, Funky Buddah House of Hair, Brentwood Leisure Trust, KFC, Pizza Hut, Cineworld, 360 Play Centre, Nando's, Brentwood Park Ski & Snowboard Centre, Hollywood Bowl, Better Gym, The Bistro at Phoenix Place, Costa, Holiday Inn, Chiquito, Toby Carvery, Paula Mead, Argos, TK Maxx, Sainsbury's, Orsett Hall, Festival Wakeboard Park, B&Q and Reids of Billericay.
The official celebratory cake was made and donated by CCG Neighbourhood Model Mobilisation Manager Lynne Taylor.

Alison Reeve, Lay Member Patient and Public Involvement, said: "It’s truly amazing to see the variety of ways that our NHS has impacted on people’s lives – from treating childhood polio in the very earliest days of the NHS, to state-of-the-art lifesaving treatments in today’s modern hospitals – I think every one of us has a reason to be grateful that our NHS is there for all of us when we need it, no matter who we are."
