May Bank Holiday pharmacy opening times and health advice

Residents in Basildon and Brentwood are being reminded where they can receive expert medical advice during the early May Bank Holiday weekend (May 5-May 7).

Patients can save time in the waiting room by visiting their pharmacist for quick, confidential advice on a range of common illnesses.

As most GP surgeries will be closed on Monday, we would like to encourage patients to order any medication they need in plenty of time so they have a good supply during the bank holiday.

There is now a GP Extended Access scheme where patients registered with a practice in the Basildon and Brentwood districts will be able to book GP or nurse appointments, via their own GP practice, in the evenings and weekends. Please see the details below:

BB Healthcare Solutions will cover GP practices in Basildon, Billericay and Wickford and offer extended access as follows:

6.30pm-8pm Monday to Friday
8am-6pm Saturdays
9am-2pm Sundays
The appointments will be offered at Hub Clinics in Basildon, Billericay or Wickford on weekdays, and at Basildon and Wickford or Billericay at the weekends or on public holidays.

Accountable Care Enterprise Limited will provide the GP extended access service in Brentwood. The service will be located at Brambles Surgery, Greenwich Avenue, just off Geary Drive, Brentwood CM15 9DY at the following times:

6.30pm-8pm Monday to Friday
9am-3pm Saturday
10am-2pm Sunday

All patients should contact their GP practice in the usual way to request an extended hours appointment.
