NHS Basildon and Brentwood CCG will be publishing a draft five year plan in April. The plan will set out our main priorities over the next five years and how we plan to develop local NHS services for people living in Basildon, Wickford, Billericay and Brentwood.
We are very keen to hear local people’s views on the plan before it is finalised in June.
Tom Abell, Chief Officer said, “We know how vitally important NHS services are to people. The local NHS can and does deliver excellent healthcare that many people rely upon. However we also know that there are areas in which services for local people can be improved – for example it’s sometimes not as easy as it could be to get a GP appointment, and that different services don’t always work together as well as they should to help the most vulnerable patients.
“We are in the process of developing a five year strategy to tackle some of these issues. We know that our priorities for the next five years will be to help develop excellent primary care services that are accessible to people when they need it, to find ways of making sure that care is more integrated with other services such as social care to prevent vulnerable people falling through the gaps, and we also want to make sure that healthcare is delivered in a streamlined and coordinated way.”
