Carers Week 12-18 June 2017

Carers Week 6-11 June 2016 logo

Basildon and Brentwood CCG will be working in partnership with Essex County Council to support Carers Week from 12-18 June 2017.

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities.

This year the focus is on building communities which support carers to look after their loved ones well, while recognising that they are individuals with needs of their own.

Did you know there are 6.5 million people across the UK who currently provide unpaid care for a disabled, ill or older family member or friend? Many carers are young children.

If you are a carer, please see the information and advice on the Living Well Essex website.

You can also contact Action for Family Carers which is a partnership of carer organisations and acts as a single point of contact in Essex.

Everyone as a relative, friend, neighbour, work colleague, employer, business or health/social care professional can help create carer friendly communities. Find out ways in which you could make a difference here
