Sepsis

Sepsis: symptoms parents should look out for

Sepsis: act quickly if you suspect a child may be suffering from sepsis

Parents in the east of England are being urged to spot the deadly signs of sepsis.

A new sepsis campaign has been launched to help parents spot the symptoms to protect young children and save lives

Parents of children aged 0-4 are encouraged to go to A&E immediately or call 999 if their child:

• Looks mottled,bluish or pale
• Is very lethargic or difficult to wake
• Feels abnormally cold to touch
• Is breathing very fast
• Has a rash that does not fade when you press it
• Has a fit or convulsion
