Social Prescribing pilot in Pitsea and Laindon

Social Prescribing Service in Dipple Medical Centre and Laindon Health Centre

A Social Prescribing Service pilot scheme is running at Dipple Medical Centre in Pitsea and Laindon Health Centre.

The pilot scheme is funded by Public Health Essex, Basildon and Brentwood CCG and Basildon Council.

A team of staff from Basildon, Billericay and Wickford CVS, supported by volunteers, are supporting patients at Dipple Medical Centre and Laindon Health Centre to address the personal or social issues that may be negatively impacting their health (such as debt, isolation, housing, family, depression etc.) by signposting and encouraging them to engage with relevant local services, groups or social activities.

Referrals are being made by all surgery staff members with the aim of diverting some of the non-medical issues being brought to GPs.
