This section has information on NHS Basildon and Brentwood CCG's Governing Body meetings.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, NHS Basildon and Bretnwood CCG had paused public meetings and events, including the CCG Board Meeting. You can read more about the work of the Governing Body during Covid on our 'Meetings of the CCG Board during the COVID-19 pandemic' page. We are now restarting our public events and meetings online. Read below how you can join in with the CCG’s Governing Body meetings.
NHS Basildon and Brentwood CCG holds a Governing Body meeting that's open to members of the public once every two months. There is an open invitation to any member of the public who wants to come along to see and hear how health care decisions are made.
During these meetings you can expect to hear discussions about new health plans, progress of current initiatives and how the CCG measures against quality and performance indicators. However, it's important to note that although Governing Body meetings are held in public, they are not 'public meetings'.
We ask that members of the public who have questions about agenda items submit those questions before each meeting.
Occasionally dates of meetings might vary or be subject to cancellation due to public holidays or unforeseen circumstances. Any cancellations will be publicised on the CCG website and social media channels prior to the original meeting date.
Please note: We will endeavour to upload Board papers to the website one week before each month's Board meeting for viewing.
Restarting online Governing Body meetings
Prior to the coronavirus pandemic all CCG Governing Body (Board) meetings were held in public. As of March 2020, these meetings were suspended for health and safety reasons.
We will be restarting our Governing Body meetings from July 2020 and these will now take place via Microsoft (MS) Teams whilst social distancing restrictions remain in place.
During the coronavirus crisis CCG staff have been advised to work from home, it will therefore not be possible to circulate hard copies of papers. However, Board papers will be published hon our website in advance of the meeting.
For further information explaining how you can access these meetings, please visit our Q&As on restarting our Governing Body meetings online page.
