We are led by our Board (also referred to as Governing Body) which is principally formed of clinical representatives from our four locality groups.
Our Board sets our strategy and direction, makes key decisions, and ensures that we meet our statutory duties and ambitions for the health and care of everyone who lives in Basildon and Brentwood.
Information on public meetings of the Board, including future dates, attendance guidance and previous Board meeting papers and minutes are available on the Governing Body Papers page.
Public meetings of the Board of NHS Basildon & Brentwood CCG are held regularly. This means members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the meetings.
Members of the public wishing to attend the meetings can find copies of the agenda and other papers here before the date of the Board meeting.
From time to time, the Board may need to consider agenda items which are confidential and cannot be discussed in public. If this is the case a private session will be held at the meeting, from which the public will be excluded.
There are many Committees within Basildon & Brentwood CCG that report to the Board. Information about these Committees and their responsibilities is currently being updated, and will be uploaded as they become available on the Terms of Reference page.
Patient and Public Involvement
There is a clear pathway for patient representation at Board level - see Patient and Public Involvement. Members of the public are encouraged to attend Board meetings and are invited to submit questions to the Board in advance.
We believe that consultations are key to putting patients at the heart of our decision making and run consultations which may involve public meetings, surveys and engagement exercises.
