Easter health advice and pharmacy opening times

Easter Pharmacy opening times poster

Basildon and Brentwood Clinical Commissioning Group is reminding residents and visitors where they can get expert medical treatment and access pharmacy services during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Patients are advised to visit their pharmacist first for quick, confidential advice on a range of common illnesses. Pharmacists are fully qualified to advise you on the best course of action if you start to feel unwell.

As GP surgeries will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, patients should make sure they have enough stock of their prescription medicines to cover the holiday period.

Call 111 if you need advice when your GP is closed. NHS 111 is the out-of-hours number.

Remember A&E is for serious and life-threatening injuries and conditions only.

You should call NHS111 first if you need medical help and are not sure where to go. When you call NHS 111 a trained adviser will assess you and direct you to the right service for your needs.

Orsett Minor Injury Unit (MIU) is for minor illnesses and/or injury such as a scald or sprain that doesn't require an A&E visit but you can't wait for a GP referral. The unit is open all Bank Holidays (excluding Christmas Day and Boxing Day). Find more more information on Orsett MIU here
