Personal health budgets for people who use mental health services

From April 2015 we’re introducing personal health budgets for eligible people who are currently accessing secondary care mental health services, or have been discharged from these services in the previous 6 months.

Having a personal health budget will mean that the person will have more choice and control over how the money allocated to their care and recovery is spent than ever before, this could include a gym membership to help someone with their depression, or a course to help get a person back into work.

In order to get a personal health budget, people will have a short assessment with a social worker about their goals and aspirations with a decision being made based on the persons’ needs. Anyone who would like to discuss applying for a personal health budget can contact us.
